The history of its foundation is inextricably linked with Platon Gas Oil company which was founded on June 30, 2014, in the city of Tema. The company is the first private functional oil refinery in Ghana. David Klimenko the founder of Idol Energy brand stood at the origins of Platon Gas Oil and from the very beginning was one of the board members there. In 2021 he took a separate path and founded his own company - Idol Energy.
